Genexus approached Sunrise Integration to address inefficiencies in their current systems and create a streamlined process for managing their B2B operations. Their Shopify ecommerce stores and SAP ERP system operated independently, leading to disjointed workflows and unnecessary manual work. Genexus faced the challenge of disjointed operations between their Shopify, JOOR and SAP ERP systems. This lack of integration led to significant inefficiencies, including manual data transfers for order processing, product updates, and inventory management. Managing these workflows manually consumed valuable time and resources, limiting scalability. The complexity was further exacerbated considering Genexus has six Shopify brand stores, each with unique workflows and inventory needs.

This included managing purchase orders (POs) and return merchandise authorizations (RMAs.) The current manual process was creating bottlenecks in supply chain management and customer returns processing.

The solution needed to support their immediate operational needs while providing the flexibility to onboard additional brands as the business grew.
Sunrise Integration worked closely with Genexus to develop a solution that addressed their business goals. The core of the solution was a custom connection platform. This service acted as a bridge between Shopify and SAP ERP, automating key processes such as order synchronization, product updates, fulfillment tracking, and PO and RMA management. The platform was tailored to Genexus’s needs, ensuring that each Shopify store could operate with custom configurations while maintaining centralized control.
To streamline the returns process, we developed an enhanced RMA portal with advanced features. The portal provided return-reason management, automated notifications, and approval workflows, significantly improving efficiency and accuracy. Customers and internal teams experienced a smoother returns process, reducing friction and enhancing satisfaction.
For PO management, we integrated SAP-driven imports and vendor notifications, enabling seamless collaboration. Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) functionality was introduced, including split shipment capabilities for detailed tracking and improved visibility. This innovation optimized supply chain management and strengthened vendor relationships.
Third-party integrations expanded the platform’s functionality. Connectors for JOOR, Returnly, and UPS Capital were developed, enabling Genexus to process returns efficiently, collaborate with vendors, and manage shipping more effectively.
