Armen Living is celebrated for its innovative furniture designs and commitment to quality while catering to a diverse clientele seeking contemporary solutions. Armen Living provides a fully integrated supply chain solution ­from the product design to manufacturing and distribution throughout the USA.

Despite their strong market presence, Armen Living recognized that their existing Shopify store was not fully meeting the needs of their customers. They wanted to enhance their online shopping experience by providing more detailed product information, improving website accessibility, and strengthening customer support. Seeking to address these challenges, Armen Living reached out to Sunrise Integration. We employed a strategic approach that leveraged our deep technical expertise and ecommerce know-how. 

The Challenge

Armen Living aimed to enrich their Shopify site to offer a more immersive and informative shopping experience, similar to Amazon's A+ Content. Armen Living recognized that customers expect a higher level of detail when making purchasing decisions. The challenge was to provide rich media, enhanced content, and detailed product information to build trust and improve conversions, Managing and displaying this extensive information across their wide range of products presented several challenges:

• Data Management Complexity: Integrating new metafields into the existing Shopify store without disrupting the current data structure required meticulous planning.

• User Experience Optimization: Adding more information needed to enhance customer experience without overwhelming or cluttering the PDP.

• Conditional Content Display: Implementing a system where new metafield sections would only display when relevant information was available to maintain page cleanliness.

• Accessibility ADA Enhancement: Upgrading the website to be more accessible to all users, complying with industry accessibility standards.

• Customer Support Improvement: Integrating a robust support and help desk system that seamlessly connects with their Shopify store to handle customer inquiries efficiently.

The Solution

To address these challenges, Sunrise Integration provided Shopify development and design support tailored to Armen Living's needs. Our vision was to include comprehensive information on each product page, covering all aspects of the product. This meant providing clear product dimensions, detailed assembly instructions, videos showcasing how to put the furniture together, and downloadable PDFs on how to properly care for the furniture. The goal was to allow customers to fully understand what they were buying, how to set it up, and how to maintain it, all within the same Shopify page. This mirrors the presentation found in Amazon’s A+ content.

• Product Detail Page Enhancements

  • We updated the PDP to include additional sections for product dimensions, assembly instructions, assembly videos, and furniture care guides.

  • Utilizing product CSV spreadsheets, we added new metafields for each product, allowing Armen Living to manage and update product information efficiently across their catalog.

• Conditional Metafield Display

  • We developed a validation system within the Shopify theme using Liquid code that checks for the presence of data in the new Shopify metafields.

  • If no information is available, the corresponding sections are hidden automatically, ensuring each product page displays only relevant information and maintains a clean layout.

  • We tested the conditional display across various products to ensure that sections appeared or hid correctly based on the availability of data.

  • This involved both automated tests and manual reviews to verify functionality.

• Website Accessibility Improvement

  • We installed and configured the AccessiBe app to enhance website accessibility features.

  • This ensured compliance with accessibility standards like WCAG 2.1, making the site more user-friendly for visitors with disabilities and improving overall user experience.

• Customer Support Integration

  • We implemented Zendesk for support and help desk functions, integrating it seamlessly with the Shopify store.

  • This integration allowed Armen Living to manage customer inquiries effectively, providing timely support and improving customer satisfaction.
